            Lower Back Pain...A Drivers Worst Nightmare

       
I had been plagued with lower back pain since my late 20's...due to an extreme amount of heavy lifting.
    Around age 35...I was diagnosed with two deteriorating disk in my lower back...the Doc told me it would eventually 
    develop into arthritis.  A pretty gloomy picture.


        
For the next 20 years...until I was 55...I struggled with intense back spasms about three times a year...
    each one lasting about a week.

        At age 52...I hit the road delivering expedited freight.  I remember all to well...after driving several miles...and stopping to fuel
    or make the delivery...getting out of the drivers seat and planting my feet onto the ground...was a very unpleasant experience.  

        After a couple minutes of walking around...the pain and stiffness eased up considerably.  However...I knew that when I climbed 
    back into the drivers seat...the next time I stopped and got out of the vehicle...the stiffness and pain would be there again...and

A Sinus Infection...Wiped Out My Smell And Taste Buds

        About a year later...I delivered an expedited load to Dothan, AL.  It was the busy season.  I'd been trucking pretty hard..
    On the way home to Greenville, OH...I felt a cold coming on...this was in August...not good.  By the time I got home...I was pretty 
    sick.  That cold turned into a sinus infection...lasting for about two weeks.

        During that time...I had no smell or taste...which is not unusual for me when catching a cold...to go a couple days without tasting
    or smelling.  However...after two weeks had gone by...I still had no taste or smell.  Two months went by...six months...a year...still
    no taste or smell. 

        I got on the internet and discovered why I had no taste or smell.  The sinus infection was severe enough...that it destroyed the
    "hair like nodules" in my nasal area that are responsible for taste and smell.  Once destroyed...they very seldom grow back.

    Nutrients in barley grass

    Amino acids and proteins

        Barley grass contains eighteen amino acids, including the eight essential ones-that is, the amino acids that we must get from our diet. 
    The body cannot produce them itself.

        Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, which are the major constituents of every cell and body fluid (except urine and bile) and 
    are thus necessary for the continual cell building, cell regeneration, and energy production that we need for life. 

        An added benefit of the green barley leaf proteins is that they are polypeptides-smaller proteins that can be directly absorbed by the blood, 
    where they promote cell metabolism (the chemical changes that we need to live) and neutralize substances that are bad for our health.

    Enzymes, vitamins, and minerals

        Green barley leaves contain a multitude of the body's spark plugs, enzymes. Enzymes are the catalysts for the body's essential chemical 
    reactions and are responsible for our digestive processes, for providing cellular energy, and for antioxidant effects.

        Despite their importance, most people do not get the enzymes they need. This is because heat destroys enzymes, and most of our foods, 
    whether cooked at home or processed, are heated and the enzymes destroyed. Dr. Hagiwara believes that there may be thousands of active

    of three dietary carcinogens: heterocyclic amines (found in cooked muscle meats), polycyclic hydrocarbons (found in smoked and barbecued

    tract, limiting their bioavailability. Chlorophyll has also been found to reduce fecal, urinary, and body odor in geriatric patients.

GREEN VEGETABLES
Nature's Healing Gifts
Green vegetables have become the focus for natural health and healing. Living constituents of plants, and most importantly the chlorophyll, are receiving much attention today. They have become health giants and are recognized universally as necessities, not accessories. These jewels of nature are consumed by all of the species of animals, birds and fish in one form or another. Whether leaf or seed or sea plants each has a purpose to nourish, cleanse and detoxify its environment both before and after consumption. Fortunately, the varieties designed for humans are varied in their flavor and texture so that just about anyone can find one or more to enjoy.

The National Research Council has always recommended what any nutrition text book will tell you, YOU NEED ONE SERVING DAILY OF A DARK GREEN LEAFY OR DEEP YELLOW VEGETABLE. So let me ask you, how many servings of kale, collards, turnip greens, mustard greens, spinach, beet tops, carrots, pumpkin, squash or sweet potatoes have YOU had this week? You needed seven!

It's a problem! We don't like deep green leafy and yellow vegetables. We don’t eat them and increasingly we can't even find them where we're doing most of our eating.
